VANS’ online AGM

Join us over Zoom for Visual Arts Nova Scotia’s Annual General Meeting on Thursday, June 25, 2020.

The AGM will start promptly at 6pm followed by an artist presentation by Ursula Johnson and Angella Parsons entitled Here There And Everywhere: The making of a podcast by KINUK starting at 7pm. This presentation is a bonus feature of the Hear Tell Podcast Training Initiative and is free to VANS members attending the AGM.

Please RSVP to communicate@visualarts.ns.ca to be sent the meeting link and instructions on how to join. You can download Zoom in advance for free and you will need a good internet connection.

All are welcome at the AGM but only VANS members in good standing can vote and make/second motions. For ease of procedure via Zoom, only votes in opposition to motions, and self nominations, will be recorded in the chat.

After the AGM, as part of the HEAR TELL Podcast Training Program, we are excited to offer an artist presentation by Ursula Johnson and Angella Parsons entitled Here, There and Everywhere: The making of a podcast by KINUK. This free, hour-long presentation will begin at 7pm following the AGM (as part of the same Zoom meeting) so we encourage you to stay and listen to how two Nova Scotia artists are using podcasting in their art practice. Please note that there will be at least 30 more people joining the meeting for the HEAR TELL artist presentation at 7pm.  There will be a short break between the AGM and the presentation. Here is more information: https://visualarts.ns.ca/shop/here-there-and-everywhere/.

KINUK (artist duo Ursula Johnson and Angella Parsons) will trace their journey of creating Here There And Everywhere by talking about programming considerations and the technical components of designing a DIY broadcast studio. “We have a desire to engage with a broader audience, acknowledging that we are not the first to have these conversations, rather we are jumping in with our perspectives. It’s also an opportunity for us to continue to explore the same subject matters of our KINUK collaborations throughout the development of the podcast.”
