Fall workshop survey and call for proposals

TAKE OUR WORKSHOP SURVEY

We’re starting to plan the VANS Fall Workshop Series and we’re asking for feedback from members and artists. We are focusing on professional development workshops in support of Nova Scotian artists’ practice and we are offering the entire series online (likely over Zoom).

Let us know what you would like to see VANS offer by completing the Fall 2020 Workshop Survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PXC2CFQ then feel free to forward this survey to artists and groups in your network.

The survey takes less than three minutes to complete and helps us build programming based on the needs expressed by artists across the province. We want to offer the professional development workshops you want to take! Deadline to complete the survey: Monday, September 7.

CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS

As part of our mandate, Visual Arts Nova Scotia offers professional development workshops to its members and artists around the province. Workshops offered in the past have included Taxes for Artists, Writing Professional Proposals, Documenting Your Work, Marketing for Artists, and more. In addition to these popular workshops we are looking for workshop proposals to enhance artists’ professional development.

Do you have an idea for a new workshop? If so, please submit a proposal for our spring series. We expect to offer most or all of our spring workshop series online, so we’re looking for proposals for 2 hour workshops (1.5 + hours of instruction plus Q&A) that could be presented over Zoom. VANS pays CARFAC fees for workshop instructors.

Workshop proposals should be a maximum of one page long and include the workshop title, description, outline, and maximum number of participants. Please  include your CV, including contact info for 2 references, with your proposal.

Please send your workshop proposals to communicate@visualarts.ns.ca by October 15.

Thank you!
