VANS Spring Workshops

We have announced VANS Spring Workshop Series! With workshops around the province in Tatamagouche, Truro, Peggy’s Cove and Halifax, this season’s workshops will cover topics like Pricing Your Work, Grant Writing, Critical Art Writing (new!), Writing Your Artist Statement and Bio, Marketing, and Websites, Social Media and Technology. As usual, these workshops will be taught by some of our most popular instructors who are artists, curators, writers, and educators in the NS arts community, like Becka Barker, Stacey Cornelius, Julie Hollenbach and Sarah Maloney.

Also returning this spring is the FRESH EYES art critique! We will have at least one of these free, drop in friendly crit sessions at VANS in May and hopefully more. In addition, we are presenting  a free panel discussion on How to get your work written about with panelists Ray Cronin (author and freelance writer), Stephanie Johns (writer and arts editor) and Becky Welter-Nolan (publisher of Visual Arts News).  Learn from those with inside knowledge about how writers choose their subjects, and why some work is more likely to get published.
