The Role of Commercial Art Galleries Panel Discussion
Visual Arts Nova Scotia presents a discussion on the role of commercial galleries with Deborah Carver of Studio 21, Dave Hayden of (((Parentheses))) and Christopher Webb of Pavia Gallery, Thursday May 22, 6:30-9pm.
Panelists will share their stories from how they got started, to what excites them about Nova Scotian art. The discussion will also aim to shed light on the commercial gallery’s role in the art community. For example, who is buying art today, and how do galleries generate and maintain relationships with collectors? What roles do galleries play in shaping the direction of art practices, and how do they support art and artists in the province?
The free event is open to the public and will be held at Visual Arts Nova Scotia, 1113 Marginal Road, Halifax.
This panel discussion is presented as part of Visual Arts Nova Scotia’s Spring Workshop Series. Visual Arts Nova Scotia advances the visual arts through leadership, education, and communication.
