Visual Arts Nova Scotia announces the departure of Executive Director Briony Carros on April 20, 2018. After over 16 years with the organization, it is difficult to do justice to her many contributions to VANS and the arts community. The Board of Directors and staff would like to thank Briony for her hard work, determination, and devotion to this organization and the artists it serves. Although it will be sad to say goodbye, we are so excited for her new opportunity and we wish her all the best!

A note from Briony:
I feel very privileged to go out on a high note after celebrating 40 years of this strong and vibrant organization.  After 14 years as Executive Director, I am most proud of the work we’ve done to create new programs and services and strengthen partnerships across the province to better serve the visual arts community.  From the Mentorship Program to Visual Arts News, it has been a pleasure to participate in the growth of this organization.

I will miss VANS but I’m not leaving the arts community, in fact I will be serving a larger constituency by taking on the role of Director at Arts Nova Scotia. Thank you to all the members, artists and administrators I’ve worked with and come to know as friends and colleagues; your support and contributions have served as inspiration for me and I look forward to making new connections in the years to come.
