Suzanne Gauthier – Fox River Diaries

Fox River Diaries
Suzanne Gauthier

A selection of graphite drawings made from notes and sketches written and executed over a one year period during sporadic stays in a 100 year old house in the village of Fox River, Nova Scotia, overlooking the Bay of Fundy. Originally, Suzanne wanted to use symbols as a kind of depersonalized shorthand to reflect her notes and sketches. Gradually, symbols couldn’t suggest enough and the drawings became more detailed and landscape focused.
