VANS in Residence in partnership with Lumière!
Visual Arts Nova Scotia, in partnership with Lumière Arts Festival Association, will host a 5-week Artist in Residence program in Sydney, NS. This residency provides for the artist to work a 40 hour week. Approximately 30% of the time will be dedicated to community based work, including hands-on workshops, studio visits, talks and presentations and 70% to the artist’s own work, be that creation, research or both. The residency is August 27 – September 30, 2018 and the artist will present the product of their residency work at Lumière’s Art-at-Night event on September 29, 2018.
The call for artists is now open; details on eligibility and how to apply can be found below. This residency will provide a chance for the artist to have a period of work with a focus on their own practice and engagement with youth and others in the community.
