VANS Activates the Artist Emergency Fund
VANS Artist Emergency Fund will accept applications starting January 21, 2013.
We are pleased to announce the activation of the Artist Emergency Fund for the New Year. Our 60-day campaign to raise $1000 to kickstart the fund has come to a close and thanks to the generous support of our members, artists and the public, we have exceeded our initial goal of $5000 before accepting applications to the fund. To date the fund stands at $ 5725.00.
Guidelines and application forms will be available on our website in mid-January or you can call the office to have information mailed to you. VANS established the Artist Emergency Fund (AEF) to assist artists in financial need arising from severe illness, an accident resulting in inability to work or help with studio replacement in case of a disaster, such as fire, where there is no insurance. Artists will be able to apply for short-term assistance, up to $500/month for three months maximum. At this time, the fund is relatively small and specific, so it will not serve all artists needs.
We will continue our efforts to replenish the fund as needed. Donations are welcome throughout the year.
