This season’s professional development workshops feature topics such as Taxes, Marketing, Grant Proposals, Writing and Networking for artists. Running October to November in Halifax, Annapolis Royal, Lunenburg and Tatamagouche, the series features the expertise of instructors Katie Belcher, Carol Bruneau, Stacey Cornelius, Nora Macnee, and Sarah Maloney.
In addition, Visual Arts Nova Scotia is organizing a free Peer-to-Peer Discussion: Survival Skills for Artists, where artists are invited to share their strategies for financial fortitude as artists. These sessions are being offered in Annapolis Royal and Halifax.
VANS is also partnering with CARFAC Maritimes to offer their panel: Empower yourself: Confident negotiation for visual artists in Antigonish and Halifax. This discussion is part of a national series explores how to manage contract negotiations without damaging working relationships.
