Equity Subsidy

Equity Subsidy

100% subsidy for schools serving BIPOC students

Visual Arts Nova Scotia is offering an Equity Subsidy to support PAINTS (Professional Artists In The Schools) workshops in schools serving significant populations of BIPOC students.

The PAINTS Equity Subsidy will support qualifying schools by fully funding projects including the artist fee, materials and any travel costs. Workshops are usually 3 – 4 hours in length for up to 30 students at a time.

This policy has been created to support greater access to this artist-in-the-schools program. PAINTS serves our youngest community members, enhancing their participation in art-making and appreciation.

For the 2024-25 school year

Eligibility:

To qualify for the Equity Subsidy (covering 100% of a PAINTS project), schools must have 60% or more of the student/school community who are BIPOC.

Up to 2 (two) applications may be submitted by a school at each deadline for the Equity Subsidy.

Funding will be provided to qualifying schools on a first-come, first-served basis until the funding is exhausted.
