Over the period of a few sessions students are introduced to basic game design. Using these new skills students can team up or go solo on designing a game that simple and fun for players. User experience, interface design, instruction writing, tools and materials are all great lessons to learn from this type of project. Students can also help one another test the games and provide constructive feedback on their ideas. This can be produced using simple game pieces, inexpensive classroom crafting materials, and some printing/reproduction tools like photocopiers or printing shops. More importantly, can students make something that is easy for others to pick up, play, and understand.
