Memory Series – Lydia Hunsberger
Emerging artist Lydia Hunsberger exhibits her recent series of photographs that examine the theme of memory in relation to space. Hunsberger has documented locations in which she has allowed a thin white veil to blow through or partially cover the landscape seen by the camera lens. Memory Series is on view in the Corridor Gallery February 3 – 26, 2016.
Describing the intent of the work on view, Hunsberger explains:
Memory Series explores remembering and how time affects memories, creating blank spaces, incomplete images and a longing for the spaces that the memories were created in. This series seeks to visually represent the feeling of nostalgia and longing for fond spaces.
Working primarily in photographic media, Lydia Hunsberger often explores themes of memory and tradition, seeking to evoke feelings of nostalgia and relation through photographic imagery. Originally from Ontario, Hunsberger currently lives in Halifax and attends NSCAD University.
