Extra PAINTS Deadline – Tues. November 12
Teachers! Get matching funds for workshops in your classroom
PAINTS is delighted to be welcoming new artists to the program.
To celebrate, we’ve created an extra opportunity for teachers to request workshops. Requests are being accepted now until November 12. We’ll be supporting the first 20 projects requested.
For this special deadline, only schools that don’t already have a project approved for this fall can be considered. The next regular deadline is January 30th, with requests being accepted starting on January 6.
New workshops are still being added each day adding to our already fantastic roster. There are workshops in textiles, clay, collage, drawing, painting…you name it! We have artists all over Nova Scotia who are eager to work with your students.
Check out and request workshops here.
The basics:
PAINTS (Professional Artists In The Schools) has art workshops for your students!
PAINTS offers support in the form of a 50% subsidy of the artist’s fee along with travel expenses and materials.
Workshops are available from grades Primary through 12.
Most workshops are 3 -12 hours in duration.
Any teacher can request a workshop for their class.
What does it cost?
The school pays 50% of the artist’s $80/hour fee. So, for a 3-hour workshop, the school would need to contribute $120. If the school contribution is a barrier, you can apply for a subsidy.
What about materials?
PAINTS will cover the full amount.
