Sally Wolchyn-Raab

Sally Wolchyn-Raab is an interdisciplinary artist, critical writer and arts administrator based in K'jipuktuk (Halifax). She works as the Artistic Director of Eyelevel and is the President of Atlantis Association of Artist Run Centres from the Atlantic. Her work centres community-based, queer and intersectional feminist approaches to how our bodies meet the world. Her recent works look at the tension between care and violence embedded in different aspects of the human relationship to food. As an emerging critical writer, she examines fellow artists, exhibitions and institutions through a lens of feminism and demystification.

Her work with arts organizations spans a range of institutions over the past 10 years, holding staff positions at artist-run centres, media art production centres and arts funders in a mix of artistic and administrative roles, always with a focus on accessibility and inclusivity. She has supported numerous artists through teaching workshops and providing one-on-one mentorship and support as well as providing contract and consultant services to small arts organizations in a way that centres harm reduction, transparency and accountability.
