Gerard McNeil
Gerard McNeil is an artist working in the mediums of photography, drawing and printmaking. His work has been exhibited in galleries locally, nationally and internationally. Along with his experiences in the visual arts, Gerard brings more than fifteen years experience designing and delivering continuing education, community arts, disability arts and arts infused programs for a diverse range of learners that includes children, youth, adults and seniors. Informing this diverse background is an equally diverse educational background that includes a BFA, B.Ed (Visual Arts Specialist), M.Ed in Adult Education, Certificates in Adult Education, Non – Profit Sector Management and Design Thinking. Along with these credentials Gerard is also a Certified Coach Practitioner.
The underlying foundation or structure for many of the community arts programs and arts infused programs that Gerard has delivered or are presently being developed, is the Creative Learning Design Framework. The Creative Learning Design Framework is a unique art based, learning design process comprised of three components, Visual (Creative) Knowing, Visual (Creative) Connections and Visual (Creative) Effects.
Two of the programs presently under development are the Drawing Connections Process and the Creative Strengths Recognition Process. The Drawing Connections Process is a visual - arts based method for designing a community of practice within an organization. The Creative Strengths Recognition Process is a person – centered, visual arts based process for anyone who wants to realize their own creative strengths and then how integrate these creative strengths into the work they do.
