Call for Committee Members & Jurors
We’re looking for volunteers to join the VANS programming committee and juries.
Committee volunteers help shape how our programs work, our application processes and selection committees. They currently oversee our Mentorship Program, New Grad Program, workshops, Open Grants, and can initiate short term projects like our Hear Tell Podcast Training Initiative for the Arts or upcoming Creative Consults artist-to-artist training for members. They help us make our programs work for artists.
Visual Arts Nova Scotia committees are each supported by a staff member. Committees meet on an ad hoc basis and are responsible to provide feedback on programs, as well as changes proposed by staff, members, and the board. Committees meet virtually 4 times per year, so the time commitment is 8 – 12 hours total, or possibly less for one-time juries. Committee members will be compensated for required travel in accordance with our expenses policy.
We prioritize applications from those who identify as Indigenous, Black, Persons of Colour, 2SLGBTQIA+, and/or Persons with Disabilities. If you have specific needs that you would like us to address, or any concerns please reach out or mention them in your email.
Submit your interest by email or your preferred method (audio, video, phone, Zoom etc.) and contact us for questions and assistance. Tell us about yourself and why you’d like to join.

Deadline: October 12.
