Artist Statement

As a graphic novelist, I use images and words to create sequential art and storytelling that explores the themes that most interest me in life, such as war and peace, politics and friendship, trauma and healing, and dignity and depravity.

Biography

Emphasis is placed on the landscape, creating an intangible mood for each scene without detracting from the physicality of the characters she creates. Her writing style is similarly uncluttered, with a relaxed pace and careful timing. Her stories are taken directly from her own lived experiences. Journalistic, exploratory and ultimately about laying out her experiences honestly to allow her thoughts be better understood, both by her and her readers. The major themes in her work are war, history, migration and trauma.
