Artist Statement

I work mostly as a tattoo artist, I do band covers, clothing designs, digital illustrations and paintings. The latter is what I present here showing my work on Mdf with watercolor and coffee. I have a series of paintings only with coffee, something that I started working on in 2021.
I represent darker and more fantastic visions with "dreamlike touches" if one could say so. part of what can be appreciated here is from a series of paintings (the last...) that have in common the faces of "fantastic" characters with blood in their mouths showing that they are burst inside.

Biography

Ulises Serrano Chilean currently living in Halifax. Philosophy professor and artist.
I arrived in Canada 3 years ago. I work mostly as a tattoo artist but much of my book time is dedicated to painting and drawing either analogically or digitally. As an artist and made several covers and logos for rock bands and mostly metal bands. I have done concept art for video games. My illustrations have been reproduced on clothing and banners for live performances. I appeared in ctv news for my paintings with coffee in 2021. Now I mix coffee with watercolor in some of my paintings. My motifs are always a dark art, with occult and sometimes symbolic overtones. Now last I am painting with more color (watercolor) and it is what I show here.
