Biography

Sheila Provazza resides in Glen Margaret, NS, where she has maintained a studio since 1989.  Originally from Massachusetts, she studied fine arts at the University of Massachusetts and received her Masters of Fine Arts degree at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan.  Provazza's work has been exhibited in the United States and Canada and has been collected by the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Mount St. Vincent University and the Nova Scotia Art Bank.  She has taught drawing and painting at Alfred University and Chautauqua Institution in New York and has been an instructor of Painting at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design since 1994.  She has worked as a scenic artist for theatre and opera, including Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown, New York.
