Biography
In the summer Sally lives by a lake; in winter, in the city ... so she has no end of sources and subjects from which to create art. She has formal education in microbiology, library science and adult education. Over the years she has learned to make art with other artists, in structured classes as well as having fun on her own creative journey.
Corita Ken, a favourite and artist/educator stated "Creativity belongs to the artist in each of us. To create means to relate. The root meaning of the word art is “to fit together” and we all do this every day. Not all of us are painters but we are all artists. Each time we fit things together we are creating – whether it is to make a loaf of bread, a child, a day."
Sally's work has been shown in The Charlotte Street Arts Centre and The Playhouse Gallery in Fredericton, NB; Bankside Gallery, Gagetown NB; as well as Hermes and Argyle Fine Art Gallery in Halifax, NS. Her work can be purchased directly from the artist or from The Creek Village Gallery Woodstock NB or from Maritime Texture Gallery ,Deer Island, NB in the summer.
