Artist Statement

We are Nova Seven Arts Council but you can call us 7Arts. We are a volunteer run non-profit community art space located in Greenwood, Nova Scotia. We engage our local community by providing an inclusive, welcoming, accessible, and creative space. It is a great place to meet new people and get creative! Our mission is to teach, support and promote the Arts and art education in Greenwood and surrounding area. We aim to advance the public’s appreciation and understanding of the Arts in the Greenwood and Kingston area. Our goal is to establish partnerships with community, government, and social groups to ensure every person has access to the healing power of creativity.

Biography

We registered as as non-profit in 2018, and opened our doors in the summer of 2019. Our grand Opening of 2020 was cancelled due to COVID shutdowns and yet we carried on. Positive attitudes, patience and dedication persevered. Our team is always evolving because people move, life happens and the world changes. We know that you can't really plan 100% for the future but you can sketch out your dream and aim for the stars. Everyone has a story and our non-profit is a collage of many. We continue to reach out to our local villages, towns, the Municipality of the County of Kings and the various departments within the Province of Nova Scotia for support and to collaborate. One of our favourite collaborations is with Veterans affairs. Drop by, grab a hot drink and stay for awhile. Let's get to know each other.
