Artist Statement

You can find MJ working on art 11-4 Monday to Wednesday and 8-1 Saturdays at Aldernery Landing Farmers market and 11-3 Sunday at Aldernery Landing Artisan market, and at other markets and art shows around the HRM, posted on Facebook and Instagram.

Biography

MJ MacFadyen, a queer, Neurodivergent, disabled artist, has been in love with paint, ink and pencil since childhood. At 18, their journey led them to the Nova Scotia Community College in Truro, where they delved into animation. Though animation didn't capture their heart, they discovered a passion for digital illustration and painting. Today, MJ embraces the artist's life fully, creating evocative and compelling works that reflect their unique perspective and unyielding spirit.
