Biography

Michael Sherwin was born 1957, in Halifax Nova Scotia and lived in Ottawa, Ontario between 1972 and 2016. He returned to Nova Scotia in 2016 and currently lives and works in Shad Bay. Michael graduated from the Fine Arts Program at Algonquin College in Ottawa in 1977. While living in Ottawa he spent some time as an art instructor, teaching beginner and intermediate watercolour evening courses for an Adult Continuing Education Program with the Ottawa-Carlton Public School Board and was a member of the Ottawa Watercolour Society.  Michael is primarily known for his landscape painting in watercolour and draws on a successful career in graphic design and illustration. Michael has exhibited in various juried exhibitions in the Ottawa area as well as participating in the Peggy’s Cove Festival of the Arts Studio Tour in Nova Scotia.
