Michael Andrassi
Artist Statement
If I had to describe my work succinctly, I would say that I seek to evoke the mood, the atmosphere of the moment, to produce a sense of “being there” in the viewer. I am most deeply inspired by maritime landscapes. In 2015, I bought a home in Blue Rocks, NS. Most of my images are taken within walking distance of my home.
I produce my prints on an Epson Stylus Pro 7890 printer on Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique paper; I also outsource the production of face mount acrylic prints.
I began the practice of photography more than 35 years ago, taking up digital photography in 2006. In 2014 and again in 2015, I exhibited a selection of my photographs in the Montreal international design show, SIDIM.
My work is online at onehandimages.ca, and I have a selection of prints displayed in my home in Blue Rocks that can be seen by appointment.
