"I am a Cape Breton Visual Artist, creating smiles one piece at a time"

Biography

I am a Visual Artist, a mom of 3, and born and raised in Glace Bay, N.S. I took ACAP as well as Graphic Design at NSCC, Sydney, NS. I have been drawing since I could walk, and selling my work since 1999, at the age of 15. I started painting with Acrylics in 2001. I mainly use acrylic paints, mixed with water, mixing colors to create my own colors.

I paint anything from cartoon characters, animals, portraits, and started doing some landscapes. I am also a Caricaturist, and have been drawing caricatures on the spot since 2004. I started off using black Indian ink and Crayola crayons, now I do them in Acrylic Paint. I have drawn thousands of caricatures at outdoor markets and events, school events, fundraisers, birthday parties, and so much more. Aside from canvases and cardstock, I also paint wall murals, as well as windows for holidays, and recently started painting gaming consoles, and clothing.

I am very involved with my community, volunteering at the Glace Bay Food Bank. I painted murals there to brighten up their space. I am also involved with Bay it Forward, and painting table top game boards on picnic tables that are now seen on Commercial Street, Glace Bay. I have been also helping children paint the sidewalks of Glace Bay to bring smiles to those walking/driving through town, taught paint rocking classes to children, as well as taught seniors art classes, and plan on doing much much more for my community.
I am currently enrolled in 1st Yr Business Administration at NSCC, and plan on opening my own local shop in the future.
