Artist Statement

I am a multidisciplinary artist whose work includes painting, drawing, installation, sculpture, illustration, satire, and the written word. Much of my work concerns itself with memory, place. childhood and concepts of home.

Biography

Margaret Nicholson was born and raised in New Glasgow where where she lives now after spending many years living and working across Canada. She also taught art for the last thirty years, the last twenty at StFX in Antigonish. She has exhibited in solo and group shows across Canada for the last forty years. Her work is part of the collections of the Canada Council, City of Ottawa, Province of Nova Scotia, Museum of Industry, Stellarton as well as many private collections.
