Artist Statement

I really enjoy taking our world and turning it into a colorful, whimsical version of what I see. People, places and pets are my specialty but honestly I will try drawing/painting anything that is presented to me. I am an acrylic based artist but I'm more focused on digital art/illustration at the moment. Being able to work on my art brings me so much joy and when I can share that with others, it just hope I can give them some of that joy that I feel.

Biography

I grew up in a family of artists with my two younger sisters always creating amazing artwork. But for me my artistic talents lied dormant until my well into my 30s. In 2016 my husband and I opened a little bistro in my hometown of Greenwood. I looked around at our bare walls and figured I could solve this issues with trying a little painting. I had soon adorned our little space with many MANY colorful paintings of quirky houses and landscapes that made me and our patrons light up with joy to see them. Over our 5 year period of being restaurant owners, I had sold numerous paintings, held art shows and worked on various commissions for our customers.
In 2021 I purchased an iPad Pro to broaden my artistic world and tried my hand at digital art. This was a whole new world for me but one that I was more than happy to explore. I've worked on custom portraits for people and businesses here in the Annapolis Valley.
