Linda Loo

Artist Statement

I paint what I love. The scenes that capture my heart.
I want you to feel what I am feeling about the landscape I am in.
When I first arrive at a place, I wait for a feeling, for an emotion to arise, trying to feel what inspired me to want to paint the scene in front of me.
Light and shadow are often the first impressions that capture me, they can bring so much life into a composition. I try to simplify the shapes and use color and light to express what I'm feeling. I paint the landscape while concentrating on how I am connecting to it.
