Artist Statement
“I paint to hold onto fleeting moments—where light, water, and memory meet—creating space to pause, find peace, and breathe in the beauty around us.”
Biography
Linda Loo Bestard is a Nova Scotia–based watercolour artist whose work is rooted in her upbringing in the fields and forests of southern Ontario, where she developed a lasting connection to nature. With a background in theatre production and scenic painting, she brings a strong sense of detail and technique to her art.
Inspired by Nova Scotia’s rugged coastlines and seascapes, her paintings capture a sense of place and fleeting moments through a balance of atmospheric realism and expressive brushwork. Her work reflects personal experiences and emotional connections to the natural world.
An active member of the Yarmouth Art Society, Visual Arts Nova Scotia (VANS), and the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC), Linda is also a dedicated plein air painter, drawing inspiration from time spent outdoors.
Through her work, she invites viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the beauty around them.
