Artist Statement

I'm an oil painter by passion, and a pen and ink artist by hobby. I use bold colours and natural figures in my surrealist art, to explore themes of feminism, the environment, gender, and sexuality.

Biography

Finn is a young artist who has recently moved to Halifax. Born in Ontario from a military family, she began drawing and painting as soon as she was old enough to hold a pencil. Her art focuses on feminine, delicate figures, cut with dramatic, contrasting shapes and subject matter. Her oil paintings are surrealist, bold, and complicated. Her pen and ink drawings are softer, clean, and a bit spooky. Above all, the inspiration behind her art is focused on the premise that every subject matter wants a friend, whether it be boy with his bird, a women with her antlers, or a ship with it's flag.
