Artist Statement
23 Hours, Inverness, Nova Scotia An exhibition of my work at the Cape Breton University art gallery. The work was Inspired by time I spent in Inverness and reflects on the relationship between our lived, ephemeral experience and its visual representations.
Biography
Elizabeth Whalley is a visual artist based in Inverness, Nova Scotia. Working at the intersection of traditional and experimental media, she creates projects, often collaboratively, that query our relationship to the material world. She has exhibited her work in Nova Scotia, Quebec, and New York. She has taught fine arts at Adelphi University, Haverford College, Pratt Institute, and Brooklyn College. She received her MFA and an Advanced Certificate in Performance and Interactive Media Arts from Brooklyn College. She was the Manager of the Inverness County Centre for the Arts from 2015-2019.
