Diana Butler

Artist Statement

I came to hooking after moving to Nova Scotia in 1995. Some elderly friends gave me some burlap and a frame and sent me home with minimal instruction and I fumbled through and taught myself to hook. With the help of different friends with different hooking styles over the years I settled into what suits me. I use all recycled materials hooked on burlap, with lots of colour and texture. I draw my own patterns, often going back to crows and animals as some of my favorite subjects.
