Artist Statement

Dynamic watercolours inspired by the beauty of Nova Scotia's flora and fauna, as well as salty landscapes of the Maritimes.

Biography

I am a self-taught artist from "Queens Coast" - born and raised - on the lovely south shore of Nova Scotia. My art is inspired by the beauty of our coastal areas, the stunning array of wildlife (flora and fauna), the precious forests and quaint historical townships. Painting bird life is my particular happy place. I work primarily with watercolours, gouache, ink and coloured pencil. I have a passion for detail and realism with my art, and I endeavor whenever possible to capture the intricacies of nature with my brush. I am often found (...or finding myself?) by the ocean or in the forest, usually with sketchbook in hand. I am also a self-taught professional bookbinder, since 2007.
