Amy Dyke

Artist Statement

Hi, I'm Amy - a freelance illustrator and designer, cartographer and GIS graduate, and artist finding my sea legs. During my BFA I explored deep, interpersonal narratives through hand-printmaking techniques such as trace monotype, but after a bit of a hiatus, I am beginning to explore new themes of place, tranquility, and comfort. Thanks for looking at my work.

Biography

Hailing from Ontario but knowing the Halifax region as home, Amy Dyke (formerly Crosby) is practising part-time as an artist through painting, printmaking, cartography, and illustration. Her inner commentary is the driving force of her work, inspired by introspections of place, identity, and comedy. Crosby graduated from NSCAD University in 2022 with a BFA and minor in drawing, alongside the Governor General’s Medal, Valedictorian, Student Art Award in drawing, and a BMO 1st! nomination. Her work appears in stores, on lampposts, vehicles, and in festivals across Eastern Canada. She graduated in 2026 from the NSCC Centre of Geographic Sciences (COGS) with a diploma in Cartography that helps to further inform experiences of locale to her work, as well as the CANMAP Cartography award and the Walter K Morrison Award for Excellence in Cartography.
