Ashley-Rose MacRae

Artist Statement

I engage my whole mind and body into the process of making as a form of self reflection and healing. I use my work to examine emotions, sensations and memories and let them move through me and into the irreproducible textiles I create. I build many of the tools I use to make unique yarns, woven structures, and textiles. I seek out opportunities to be in community and offer others a chance to slow down, weave, and enjoy the benefits of handwork and self expression.
