Dawn Web

Artist Statement

I express my art through numerous mediums exploring themes surrounding socio-political issues. I experiment with the connection between colour and emotion and lack thereof. I cannot fit into a box; my artistic practice links various methods all strung together and hung out to dry as one cohesive picture. My cross-spectrum exploration of the arts is both rugged and delicate, inviting vulnerability to evoke discomfort to elicit change. My art is loud and messy filling abstract spaces with texture, yet, still allowing rhythm to seep through patterns to keep it grounded. My main focus is on the process not the product. Layers for practice and feeding obsession: a fixation on perfecting chaos. Creating escapades, my art shall be "a mirror to the observer"—see what you want to see—a reminder to live your truth. Cultivating and inventing spaces to breathe: a world to run away to and get lost in.
