Yuliia Khovbosha
Artist Statement
After extensive searching and experimenting, I turned to sculpture because it presents art from various angles, unveiling disguised visuals and impressions without being confined to a single plane of perception.
My inspiration stems from nature’s patterns and details, often overlooked. Through my art, I reveal human-nature connections, emphasizing our mutual impact and stressing our limited knowledge of the sophisticated system we’re part of. This system transcends cultural and ethnic boundaries, necessitating protection to maintain our planet's delicate balance. Beyond ecology, my art addresses gender equality, women's vulnerability, and wartime struggles. Forced to leave Ukraine due to the war, I navigate the challenges of immigration through my work.
Each piece is meticulously sculpted from scratch, using a variety of materials and techniques to achieve a hyper-realistic touch. My sculptures not only reflect my expertise and life experiences but also my unique perspective on the beauty and imperfections of our world.
