VANS In Residence
Deadline: Monday, February 13, 2023, 11:59 pm AST
Visual Arts Nova Scotia in partnership with the Annapolis Valley Regional Library will host VANS In Residence this spring at the Kentville Library.
VANS in Residence provides a stipend to support the artist, a studio space, as well as support from VANS and The Kentville Library to help to make the residency a rich experience for the artist and the community alike. 60% of the artist’s time will be dedicated to their own work (creation, research, or both) and 40% of the time will be dedicated to community-based work, including hands-on workshops, studio visits, talks, and presentations.
This VANS in Residence program will take place from April 1 – 30, 2023. The planning week must take place at least 3 weeks prior to the start date of the residency.
The artist’s work can focus on research, development, and/or the production of ongoing or new bodies of work. Projects that do not require access to specialized equipment are most suitable for the residency program. Artists are responsible for securing any additional specialized equipment. The outreach elements of this residency may be by distance.
A stipend of $2500 will be paid to the artist and studio space will be provided at the Kentville Library. If the artist is from outside the area, accommodation will also be provided.
