Ken Flett

Artist Statement

My practice has stepped away from the photographically based work to one that focuses primarily on pieces created through stitching, embroidery, and mosaic. The three-dimensional work I have done includes sculptures, hand-sewn figures, and marionettes carved by hand. Regardless of the medium, my work focuses on themes of love, memory, hope, and loss. I am most interested in making the invisible visible through my art. My exploration of the art form of puppetry is where l bring together all aspects of his creative practice to consider storytelling anew through this complex medium.
