Artist Statement

Where were you when the seemingly banal became extraordinary? Simple things strike my soul and transform my spirit.  The preceding are a collection of my thoughts, dreams, aspirations and vision. Sometimes I am taken by the gentle beauty of the hummingbird as it quietly feeds. Nature offers us the best there is in life, even when we can’t always be there. The watercolour impressions flow like dreams and charming characters emerge as if from a fairy tale

I paint to offer a sanctuary focused on nature and peace, populated with works that strive to remind us of home, hearten our spirits and connect us with the wider world.

Biography

I currently live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada with roots in Shelburne County.  Beginning in High School I sculpted and sold jewelry, I went on to graduate with Honours in Multimedia Design and Marketing in Moncton, N.B.

My focus now is watercolour.  I enjoy trying new art forms, from visual to hands on art forms.

When not creating, I’m a mother of two who loves nature, loud music and dabbles in “do it yourself” projects for my home.  With passion and experience spanning 25 years, I aim to make art that is upbeat, imaginative and colourful.
