artist statement

My painting process is an exploration of colour, texture, form and pattern. Thematically, I draw from observations of life, love, loss and chance.

Words are drawn from my observations and layered, buried, sometimes exposed. Atop these layers iconic figures allow me to explore scenario and dialogue, finally freezing the moment in time. I add, subtract, rotate, love and hate these figures in flat out creative satisfaction.

Sarah Reesor is a self taught, emerging artist who moved to nova Scotia in 2003 from Ontario. Her work has exhibited in Ontario and Nova Scotia. She currently works from her home studio in the creative community of Granville Ferry. Her work can be seen at Gallery Athena in Wolfville.
